Marion Nestle is an international expert in nutrition, food science, and public health. She was asked what doctors should be telling their patients about how to care for their families from a nutritional perspective. Her answer was relatively simple and had three parts:

1. SEEK VARIETY - different foods have different nutrients.

2. SEEK UNPROCESSED FOODS - the foods you eat should be as close as possible to how they came from the plant or animal. Processing often involves the addition of sugars, salts, and fats with the possible removal or degradation of fiber and nutrients.

3. SEEK MODERATION - this goes for moderation in the treats and sweet that you eat (which are included in your diet under point #1) and in moderation between consumption and physical activity. Avoid excess.

Sounds good to me.
Cheers,
Larry
