Happy Friday everyone! A few days before Christmas, which, whether you celebrate it or not, usually provides a break from work and a chance to spend time with family. In the closing days of the year, it is nice to reflect on the year, considering accomplishments, challenges, relationships and, even how you grew and changed as a person, spouse, worker, and dubstep dancer. This end-of-year reflection stimulates beginning-of-year resolutions. Most people, including myself, usually accept a physical challenge for at least one new years resolution. Recently, you’ve heard us speak of the importance of low intensity activity, like standing and walking, for health. Let’s be honest, low intensity activity is not as sexy as high intensity activity and sport. But, what is sexy is staying youthful and spunky as you age and low intensity activity is a very important component towards realizing that goal. Despite the fact that we are emphasizing low intensity activity in our blog posts these days, high intensity, performance-oriented activity is also still important for your health and well being. Accepting physical challenges is a good thing so get creative and think outside the gym. In that vain, we have a tradition of posting blogs entitled “movement is beautiful.” These highlight someone who does something physical very very well. These posts display human potential and show how movement is clearly one of the most breathtaking forms of art. Enter Scott Marques, a dancer from Georgia. I’m motivated to get up and get moving, are you?
