Do you collect and store my credit card information?
Just like other ecommerce websites, we use your credit card information to complete your purchase on our website. We use third parties to execute your purchase and these vendors use very sophisticated security measures to protect this information. We do not permanently store your credit card information on our website. -
How do you use the information I enter on the website while participating in the Dan’s Plan programs?
We ask you to enter information on our website, such as your current weight, the amount of movement you participate in, and the number of hours you sleep. Our tools use this information in a number of ways to help you track, analyze, and improve your progress toward your goals. For example, by entering your weight each day, we will provide you with a detailed graph of your actual weight history compared to the weight loss that we predicted on your Dashboard. This feature allows you to follow and monitor your progress and has been shown to help increase motivation and persistence as you work to achieve your goal. Our sophisticated tools are also built to recognize patterns in your behaviors and we may use this to provide additional personalized information and suggestions to help improve your results. We understand that your information is very personal and will only use it in ways that improve your experience or that improve the Dan’s Plan program as a whole. We are committed to keeping your information anonymous and confidential and at no time will we share your personal information with a third party without your permission. -
Why do you collect information on how I use your website?
We collect information about how people use our website in order to improve the user experience. For example, if we recognize that many people fail to click on a link that we have provided, we will review the design of our site and make changes to improve it. We respect the privacy of our members and will not disclose any of this information to outside parties if it is not directly related to improving the user experience on our website. -
Will you share my personal information with other people?
We will only share your personal information with others when it is necessary to provide a service to you. For example, we will share your shipping address with UPS so that they are able to deliver your product orders. We may also share your program results as part of a report on group results with other members in ways that do not identify you. For instance, we may share that “XX% of all Dan’s Plan participants achieved their ideal weight within X days of their goal.” We may also share non-identifying group information (e.g. XX% of all Dan’s Plan participants are interested in local food) with consultants, vendors, and others in an attempt to improve our website or the Dan’s Plan programs. We will never sell or rent personal information (like your email address) to companies who want to sell you their products.
